The Unexpected

Image
On one of my walks on the river trail in Spanish Fork I was taking photographs with my new camera and I saw this blue flower blowing in the wind.  So I took a few shots and one turned out so stunning.  I am amazed  and so glad I was able to capture the beauty of this flower. Sometimes in life the things that we think are average turn out to be extraordinary.  We are like this flower, whether in the mist of trials or regular life we can find the beauty in our lives.

Visiting Pumpkin Patch

Before Val and I went to India we had to have our fun fall festivities with the grand-kids. We took them to Jackers in Springville and had a blast.  We buried each other in the corn. There was corn all over the place.   We slid down slides, had a wild hay ride in the mud, had yummy donuts, and got lost in a hay bale maze.

Fire evacuation!

Image
September was a crazy month.  A Wild fire, started by lightening, caused our town of Woodland Hills and neighboring town of Elk Ridge to evacuate our homes.  I was a surreal experience  going through our home choosing what to keep and what could be replaced.  I had been packing for a weekend trip so I had some clothes together.  I thought we would be back in our home in a few days. We took our photos journals, and important papers.   I had felt calm as I packed up I left my home in the Lord's hands and closed the door.  I prayed for the fire fighters to be safe.  We drove to Salem Hills High School where the evacuees met  you could see the fire coming down the canyon it was so scary and it became real. Over the next few days many prayers were said our stake had a fast and many stakes all over Utah and the country joined us.   Val and I stayed at Nathaniel and Amber's house.  We got to play with the boys which was a blessing.  Val set up his office in Nathanie

Next Scan

Image
September was a very crazy month before the fire and evacuation I had a scan and a Dr appointment. My scan came back with results of decreased tumors.  This is such great news.  We are so happy.  I am doing so well health wise.  I am so grateful for a reduction of the tumor.  I am basically normal, well as normal as one can be with tumors in ones liver.  It feels good to be a regular person at least as far as health goes.  I appreciate of all your prayers.  I know that they are a big part of my good health.  I hope to continue to get better and have a long life.  After getting back into our home Val and I went to San Jose for business and we took off one day and went to the ocean.  It was so nice to be there and enjoy the peace of the place.  We finally got to celebrate our birthdays and my scan results.  It was good to have time together.

Friends in India

I love coming to India the best part is the people I get to meet. Sunday my friend Fatithima was having her daughter blessed. I was so glad we could be there on that occasion.  Here is a picture with her and her baby and my other friend Glory.   I met some new friend's  Amrita Korsa,  Geetha Rajesh, and  Ujvala Ramesh Also Lynda Dunna came to visit with her new son Ethan. He has such cute black curly hair.   I am so grateful for all the friends I have met.  Val's employees are very nice and are helping me learn about their culture.  At lunch time I usually eat with Luna and Sw  We would tell about each others cultures.  They would ask many questions like do all older women have short hair.  Barbara Bush and many other celebrates, and myself have short hair I told them many women have short hair even young women.  It is rare to have short hair here in India. Luna from work took me to a dance performance. It was fun to see.  We were seated in the f

New Normal

I am in India with Val.  On Sunday walking down the steps Val noticed I wasn't holding on to the rail. It's my new Normal! I hadn't noticed, six months ago I was holding on and now I am getting use to my new normal. Our move to Utah has kept me busy to say the least.  We have settled into Val's dad's home while waiting to be able to move into our home on December 1st.  I get to be in India for two week this will help the time fly before moving into our home. It is good to see all the friends old and new that I have met here. Before Val went to India I went to the Huntsman Cancer Center and met with the doctors and staff  there.  They are really nice and I will be in good hands with them.  I also met my local oncologist and will be getting my shot and port flushed there.  They are located at the Utah Valley Hospital so I don't have to drive to Salt Lake City each month. My health is great, I am stable and getting back my strength.  It is not as hard to wal

North Fork Idaho Family Vacation

What a crazy summer we had.  It started out just looking at houses on line in Utah and ended with the sale of our house and purchase of our new house in Woodland Hills in Utah. And we threw in a family vacation in the middle of it all. For our family vacation we went to North Fork Idaho where are kids all joined us.  It was so fun to be with everyone. We went fishing and had a tale gate dinner. Emma did a frog swan dive, unfortunately we didn't get it on camera. We met a moose Saturday we were all together and we went for a hike along the Lewis and Clark trail. Watched a rattlesnake cross the road.  cows Eat lunch
