Tent trailer

Image
We come to an end of an era. We have grown to old to keep using our tent trailer so we decided to give it to a new family. It was so sad to let go of it we have had so many good times in it. 20 years of fun and two trips around the US. Now it will have a new life with another great family.

Good news from Doctor

Image
Went to San Francisco yesterday to get a CT scan and talk to the Dr. The scan went well. The dr says that the tuners on the left of the liver have significantly shrunk. This is very good news!!! The one on the right that the embolized last November is not smaller. It has another source of blood from another organ, but unless it starts bothering me he says it is not needed. Now we see what chemo drug they put me on and when. I can travel and have my vacation before we start. So things are good here. While in SF we applied for Emma's visa to India just in case we need to go. Then we went kite flying on the beach. There was wind enough for Val to fly his kite. Emma had a blast flying hers. Location: San Francisco

On Saturday we were going to go do some site seeing but wen we looked out our plain schedule we didn't have time so we went to the garden by the Hotel.  it was lots of fun we took pictures it was very pretty.  sometimes you have to go off the beaten path to experience life. It was beautiful.  There was a newlywed couple getting their photos take I asked if I could take their picture.  They were so fun. Here are some of the pictures I took. Backside of water. On our flight home we had a 6 hour layover in Taiwan.  We ventured out to see  some  sights.  we  went to a temple it was very beautiful.  wish we could have been there during the day. It took us longer to get to the shrine and back I was very glad to get back into the airport in time.  Out bus ride was slow the bus went about 50 mph with everyone speeding past.  it too and hour and 40 minuets to get there.  Then we caught a  subway to the shrine. It was about 10 pm so it was dark.  We took a lot of picture

A day with the Evans

Image
I met the evens at Nakano. There was a flea market type shopping area. It was fun to be in a native shopping area not touristy. It was fun to be with the Evans. We road the bus past the mission home and church building then took a subway to where the Temple is. We were going to go to a session but it didn't start soon enough to get me back in time so we went to lunch at an Indian restaurant with naan and chicken curry. It was good. The temple was wonderful. It is in a tight area so it was hard to get a good picture. I loved befit with the Evans. They were a bright spot to my trip. That evening was a company dinner at a fancy Japanese all you can eat place. It was good with very interesting looking food.

Imperial Palace Gardens

After the big long day I decided to not go with the guys. They left at 7:00 I left later getting some needed rest. I took the train to Tokyo station and set off to find the Imperial Gardens. I asked a lady who was looking up on here ipad Mimi where she was going. I asked here which way to the imperial gardens. She didn't speak English and her map was in Japanese I showed her the green place on the map. She asked someone and started walking with me towards the gardens. She would stop and ask people. There were so an cool buildings I wanted to take pictures of but she was helping me and I didn't feel I could stop and take pictures. At one point I couldn't keep up with her she notice and offered to carry my bag I said I was ok. Then she walked slower when she got me to the entrance she went on her way. I thanked her so much. The gardens were great. There were even rest house with ice cream snacks (which was good because I haven't had a chance to get lunch). There we

Riding the Rail

Val was in Japan to meet with customers. This ment a lot of meetings and off to different place most outside of Tokyo. Wednesday we went out to a small town. It looked pretty big to me lots of tall buildings and lots of people. There wasn't a tourist attraction in this town so I just walked and took pictures. The first thing I saw was a bike parking lot complete with two stories. There was also a place where the bikes went into a regular parking garage. They were lined up to get in. As I walked I had to take care not to get hit by a bike. Ok I should mention that they are on the other side of the road that means they walk on the left side of things. So I would have to think walk to the left. But then the rules would change and they would have you walking on the other side needles to say you had to pay attention to where you were going. Here is the bike dealership where you could buy your bike. The long walk. There are no places to sit down. After walking a ways I would get
