A day with the Evans

I met the evens at Nakano. There was a flea market type shopping area. It was fun to be in a native shopping area not touristy. It was fun to be with the Evans. We road the bus past the mission home and church building then took a subway to where the Temple is. We were going to go to a session but it didn't start soon enough to get me back in time so we went to lunch at an Indian restaurant with naan and chicken curry. It was good.
The temple was wonderful. It is in a tight area so it was hard to get a good picture. I loved befit with the Evans. They were a bright spot to my trip.

That evening was a company dinner at a fancy Japanese all you can eat place. It was good with very interesting looking food.

A new Adventure

I am starting a new adventure in my life. I have been diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. It is in my pancreas and liver. I have been getting to take many tests; like CT Scan, biopsy, MRI, PET, and MUGA. I feel like a pin cushion. I have had radio active sugar water put in me and then waited an hour to take glowing pictures. I didn't glow anywhere I wasn't expecting to so that is good. Yesterday they took some of my blood and put radio active stuff in it then put it back in me. I only needed a 20 minute rest. Before they took pictures of my blood pumping through my heart. While I waited my grandson Adam called. He made the wait fly by. Today I get to have a port put in so they can give me chemo. For this test I can't drive myself home so Val is coming with me. This is the one that makes it all seem real. One never wants to have stage 4 cancer. It has come on so gradual always giving information out a little at a time. So the adventure begins. 1st day of chemo

We drove down to Jackson to the lab to check my blood to see if I was we'll enough. Then we went to the drs office. For all set up. Put the iv in my port it hurt. Good thing about they lest the hook up part so I don't have to get poked the next 4 days :) this is where I get to spend the afternoon. The sisters in my ward made me a scrapbook of inspirational thoughts. It was so nice I haven't read them all I'm spreading out the joy :)

The Unexpected

On one of my walks on the river trail in Spanish Fork I was taking photographs with my new camera and I saw this blue flower blowing in the wind.  So I took a few shots and one turned out so stunning.  I am amazed  and so glad I was able to capture the beauty of this flower. Sometimes in life the things that we think are average turn out to be extraordinary.  We are like this flower, whether in the mist of trials or regular life we can find the beauty in our lives.
