Illinois

Image
We had a traveling day with a slow start. We went canoeing kayaking and paddle boating on the pond that we camped at. It was called hideaway camp. It was a family run place lots of fun things to do. After boating we went to shower and swim. We didn't leave till noon and had a 6 hour drive. The drive turned out longer because of slow traffic for construction. We went trough a corner of Indiana and a time zone. Illinois has a lot if corn fields so we took a picture. We got off the freeway for gas then a book store and discovered that we were on historic route 66. That was fun. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Image
We took a ferry to Isle au Haut and backed 4 miles to a campground on the island. This is the shelter we pitched our tent in. Oh did I tell you we could have ridden the ferry right to our camp or had the ferry drop our gear but as Jared put it "that would be boring. "

Acadia National Park

Image
We decided to stay in Acadia instead of going to Cutler. We had great wet walk. We climbed up Beehive. Then had lunch. When lunch was over I saw the clouds getting darker then I heard a noise it was the rain coming. We got soaked. It was great fun.
