Golconda Fort

Image
This was our first outing out of the office.  It was a lot of fun.  You go through the outer gate in the car then there is this village.  Very small road with buses autos cars people all trying to go down it. Boys on the way home from school. We are in the car, street was very crowded. When we pulled up to the entrance Val was talking to the driver and kids were coming up to me and shaking my hand.  Then mom would then teenage boys they also wanted to get a picture with me there were 20 people around I didn't dare hand my camera to some stranger and Val was busy so that will be a memory not a picture. Entrance or gate to fort. Hindu Temple Hitec City K King's way .  King would be carried on type of cart with sticks and two short men in back and two tall men in front carrying him down the stairs. Date night

Barbecue Nation This is the starter. This was a great place many waiters bringing food all the time. One waiter made sure I didn't get anything to spicy. There was chicken, fish, veg, and tofu. Val had some prongs. They asked us if we wanted more I thought I could eat one more then we found out it was just the starter. So we went and got the main course and desert. It was so fun there was entertainment too; fire throwers and fire eaters, then Indian Latin dancers. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Breakfast

Image
Every morning we eat in the hotel. This is the first day i did not have pancakes or French toast ( the Indian version of them). I have vegetables for breakfast because that is the only time they have them. The omelet with masus (onions peppers) are very good. Lot better than scrambled. They also have hard boiled eggs. The bread was roti it is similar to tortillas cooked a little different. You use it to pick up your food. I have gotten so use to eating with my fingers that I started to eat my French toast with my fingers. By the way there is know syrup. I use jam instead. I put it on my roti also. Food is quite the adventure:) - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Hotel life

Image
Amogh Hotel is where we are calling home. It is a short walk to work. It is not a American tourist hotel but it is wry nice. Here are a few pictures. The room is very big and has a desk, chair, table, and a soft chair. And of course a bathroom with a shower or bucket if you prefer. And a very nice sink. Don't forget to not drink the water. We also have a closet with a safe :) and a cupboard with a fridge. Stalked with drinks and candy bars. I'll have to take more pictures. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone Location: Road Number 86,,India

At the office

Image
Well I'm settling into life at the office. I finished lesson 8 in history "the crucible of Europe: the transformation of the late Roman world". I'm on to the study of Islam. Yesterday I found it hard to stay awake so I would crochet then go back to studies. Last night Val was staying later so one of the guys who has a car offered to drive me home. It was pouring down cats and dogs. The monsoon season is starting. There was water everywhere and lighting less than a mile away. Here are Pictures of us at the office. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Saturday

We are here. We arrived in India Saturday morning around 3:00 am. Got settled into our hotel at 6 then got up around 9 we got up to go into the office. For breakfast we went down to the restaurant in the hotel. It is not a for star hotel but is very nice. As we went in to eat there was a slight elevation change that I did not see so I fell down on my knees. Way to make a grand entrance. It hurt but I was was able to walk over and get food. That was interesting different kinds of spices. I ordered scrambled eggs thinking that would be safe. They were white with a weird spice. There was French toast that was good. With our stomachs full we started off to the office. We walked many cars stopped to offer a ride. Val said I was getting a lot of attention. It was a our job to stay out of the cars way. This was a small road almost two way. The cars motorbikes autos home to let you know they are there. Once in awhile there was a sidewalk lots of broken stones dirt and water to dodge. Well my f
